For teens going into Scarsdale Middle School in Grades 6 through 8: To support Scarsdale Middle School’s summer reading requirements, Scarsdale Public Library’s Teen Services Department teams up with other library departments as well as with Scarsdale Middle School’s teacher librarian, Shana Frazin, to establish and maintain a summer reading section of all readily available materials meeting the prepared-for-back-to-school curricular requirements set by the teachers in:
- Butler 6, 7, and 8;
- Cooper 6, 7, and 8;
- Fountain 6, 7, and 8;
- Popham 6, 7, and 8; and
- CHOICE 7 and 8.
In addition to containing all available copies of teacher-recommended summer reads (in alphabetical order by Item Title), the section includes a printed reference copy of the summer reading lists from teachers as well as scannable QR codes for online viewing of the lists (Not yet available as of May 6, 2024). All items are labeled and cataloged specially for the summer reading section, which will be located next to the Self-Service Holds (see Map image below). Library staff will be available to assist with your selections, if you wish.
