APRIL IS NATIONAL POETRY MONTH: WRITE A HAIKU!

Hello Scarsdale Teens!

Here's April's installment of our bite-sized writing exercise:  Post-it-Prompts!

Our latest prompt for you was:  April is National Poetry Month: Write a Haiku!

You wrote:

Spring is coming soon
Flowers blooming, blossoming
It is beautiful

Summer is coming
Singing birds and warm weather
I'm so excited

I love early spring
When the flowers bloom again
But it's way too hot

Rose pink petals rise
Sun begins to shine up high
Spring surrounds the sky

Fingers hesitate
Keyboard glowing in the dark
Unsaid and unsent

Oh so many leaves!
Red, green, yellow and organge,
Oh wow, so much fun!

Outline is now done
Ms. Comerford wants me dead
Now it's due next week

Snow is very fun
Camp and summer are awesome
I really love camp

Look at the bright sun!
So bright and so beautiful!
Wow it is so nice!

Winter melts away
New life rises from the earth
The birds laugh and cry

Our next Post-it-Prompt will launch in May.

This project is brought to you by Scarsdale Public Library's
Teen Services Department & Teen Advisory Board.
